Design: Simon Pengelly
Lean, as its name suggests, riffs on the idea of a raked leg. Simon has taken this classic idea to its natural conclusion by making a series of products which are entirely defined by the angle of the leg.

The end grain runs through the tops, tying everything together beautifully and is expressive of the solid wood structure.

Simon and Ben Fowler first met when they worked together in the Habitat design studio. Simon’s training as a cabinet maker, together with an acute sense of quality and care for detail, have made him one of the country’s top designers. Since establishing his own internationally renowned design firm, all of Simon’s work has a common thread of classic craftsmanship.
Products to his name include Habitat’s most successful Radius range, aircraft seating for Virgin Airways and the beautiful Theo range of contract seating and tables for Chorus. Ben and Simon have worked together developing prototypes over the years and it is fantastic to have Simon designing his own products especially for the Marque collection.
Design: John Weaver
Once a common detail of British classical furniture John has re-imagined the ball foot for the 21st century. As a practical and uplifting decorative motif, the ball was recognized by mid century designers Charles Eames, George Nelson and Earnest Race as an eye catching component.
